JAMES WEBBER (Co-Author/Book)

Jim's book for Judy's Scary Little Christmas (written with David Church) was nominated Best Musical of the Year by the LA Weekly and Best World Premiere Musical by LA Stage Ovation Awards. Jim co-authored the hit musical Soph: A Visit with the Last of the Red-Hot Mamas, and created sets and graphics for On Tina Tuna Walk, as well as for Judy.

With David Church, he wrote The Showstoppers. His musical revue Just in Time is a tribute to Betty Comden and Adolph Green.   In Los Angeles, he co-produced and wrote special material for The Box Office Follies, an I.A.T.S.E. benefit. As a designer, Jim often designs sets for theatre groups in New England where he resides - most recently, Little Shop of Horrors, Guys and Dolls, Carousel, Lend Me a Tenor and Communicating Doors.  As a director and designer, Jim has done both for college and community theatre - recently City of Angels, Psycho Beach Party and The Philadelphia Story.  

 

DAVID CHURCH (Co-Author/Book)

In his former life as a marketing executive, David helped create advertising campaigns for Heather Locklear, Sheena Easton and Cher.  He also wrote  infomercials ranging from the sublime (Panasonic's History of Times Square, narrated by Dick Clark) to the ridiculous (The Magic Twanger... a "Miracle Putter".)

For the theatre, he previously collaborated with James Webber on The Showstoppers.  His children's book, Larue & The Brown Sky (illustrated by Toby Bluth) was recently musicalized by the Los Angeles Children's Museum. He has written the network telefilms Deadly Reunion and Saving Grace and has a variety of feature film scripts in various stages of development hell. David is grateful to his family and friends for their support and to the Nike Corporation for their sage admonition to "Just Do It!".  He is a member of the WGA and The Dramatists Guild.

 

 

JOE PATRICK WARD (Music & Lyrics)

Joe scored the entire first season of the cult television comedy Sordid Lives: The Series on the Logo Channel.  Based on the popular play and film, the series starred Rue McClanahan, Olivia Newton-John, Bonnie Bedelia, Caroline Rhea, and Leslie Jordan.  He scored the motion picture Blues for Willadean, starring Beth Grant, Dale Dickey and Oscar winner Octavia Spencer.

Joe wrote the music and lyrics for the off-Broadway musical Hysterical Blindness and Other Southern Tragedies (starring Leslie Jordan), which ran for six months at the Soho Playhouse, then played in Los Angeles, Richmond and Fort Worth (in a production he also directed). He wrote the book, music and lyrics for Fools For Broadway, which was recently workshopped by the acclaimed Director's Company in NYC.  He created the cult favorite The Grave White Way at the Hudson Theatre in Los Angeles ( Ovation Award nominee).  He wrote the songs for Del Shores' hit play with music, The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife (Ovation Nominee & L.A. Drama Critics Winner), which was published by Samuel French, Inc. and is now playing in theatres all over the country.  

Joe also underscored and appeared in Del Shores' long-running play Southern Baptist Sissies (and will compose music for the upcoming film version). He composed songs for the shows She's a Handful, In Sherwood and Mother of Pearl (published by Dramatist Play Services). He has written songs for several films in development at Warner Brothers and was the headwriter for the National Public Radio comedy broadcast Propaganda Radio. Joe's songs have been sung by numerous Broadway vets, including John Raitt, Loretta Devine, Stephen Schwartz, Ken Page, Gregory Jbara, Stephanie J. Block, Harry Groener, Davis Gaines, Sharon McNight, Billy Porter, Susan Egan, Mary Bond Davis, Jason Graae, Valarie Pettiford, Billie Barnes, Seth Rudetsky, Gregory Jbara, Jan Maxwell and Roxie Lucas. Joe is a member of ASCAP and The Dramatists Guild.
